On 19 September, we are taking part in the Dragon Boat Challenge in support of our chosen charity for 2025, Birmingham Children’s Hospital (BCH). The hospital provides specialist care, supports families through the toughest times, and invests in pioneering research. We know and speak to many people locally that have benefitted from the fantastic care and services that BCH provides, and we want to make sure they can help many more.

Our community team, the JPCT, has been leading our fundraising efforts with an ambitious target of £3,000 for this challenge. We have now surpassed our original goal through our various fundraising activities, thanks to the generosity of friends, family, clients, local businesses and community connections.

So far this year, we have been busy fundraising through bake sales, a wear red for BCH day, a Mario Kart challenge, and throughout August colleagues at Jones and Palmer rose to the challenge of rowing 186.2 km, inspired by the founding date of BCH in 1862.

We kicked the rowing challenge off on the 12th August with a one-day sprint in collaboration with our local partners KBX. They created an amazing set up, allowing us to row in sprints, with their trainers even helping us achieve our goal and provide guidance along the way. We’re thrilled to have smashed the rowing target, with contributions from colleagues participating from gyms, home rowing machines and even one set up in the office!

The big competition takes place throughout the day on 19 September, on the canals by the Mailbox, in the heart of Birmingham. Team Jones and Paddler will compete against crews from across the region, all to raise vital funds for BCH.

Each donation makes a difference and every penny raised goes directly to BCH in support of sick kids and their families.

You can keep up with our progress on our social channels. If you are able to contribute, we would be hugely grateful for your support to help Birmingham Children’s Hospital continue their incredible, life-changing work. And if you have an hour to spare on the day, we'd also love some local support on the canalside at Brindleyplace. The more, the merrier!
