Do you like directing traffic?

Do you enjoy a dynamic working environment, delivering multiple fast-paced projects as part of an integrated and supportive team?

We need someone who loves being at the centre of the action, taking responsibility for managing the flow of work around the business.

Jones and Palmer make business understandable so that people can make good long-term decisions. We help companies listed on the London Stock Exchange explain their investment proposition and support them to align their brand with their stakeholder promises. We do this through engaging corporate reports, compelling websites and insightful brand development initiatives.

Main purpose of the role

We are looking for an experienced and effective Traffic Manager to manage and plan work for our Creative, Software Engineering and Consultancy teams.

Responsible for ensuring all work flows smoothly into and out of the teams, you’ll be the glue that holds everything together. You’ll work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure work is delivered efficiently, effectively, and to deadlines, and you’ll work in tandem with our existing Studio Traffic Manager to support each other and align your approaches.

On a daily basis, you'll be managing work schedules and task assignments, resource allocations and requirements, monitor the quality of briefs, and keep all stakeholders informed and updated as to the progress and status of their projects.

Our ideal candidate will have a creative agency background, a high degree of emotional intelligence, be a strong communicator and be willing and confident to engage with colleagues at all levels. You will be flexible and approachable, helpful and accommodating - but always realistic about what can be delivered and able to manage expectations with tact and diplomacy.

About this role

  • Be the main point of contact for all resource planning, scheduling and trafficking queries and manage the day-to-day flow of work
  • Chase, review and challenge the quality and accuracy of briefs into the department
  • Collaborate and liaise with internal teams to ensure work is managed and delivered to key project milestones and the critical path, and stakeholders are kept informed
  • Maintain a live 4-week plan of all current and pending work and deadlines, as well as a longer-term plan and future freelance requirements
  • Ensure projects are resourced accurately and where possible, scheduling work to individuals’ client portfolios, strengths and skills
  • Support and collaborate with the Studio Traffic Manager to ensure a consistent approach to planning and scheduling across all delivery teams

You will also need

  • At least 2 years’ experience of scheduling and trafficking design, web and print projects in an agency environment, with direct experience of managing digital development work
  • Experience of managing a workflow with multiple interdependent resources
  • Experience of the tools and methods of resource management and work scheduling
  • Adept at working effectively under pressure, meeting ever-moving deadlines
  • Able to maintain a calm approach whilst dealing with constant booking changes, consistently delivering a high quality service
  • Highly organised, with a structured and methodical approach and a strong eye for detail
  • A good problem solver, with solid decision-making skills
  • Good critical thinking ability, willing to challenge and be challenged and able to see the big picture
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, able to advise, influence and engage with stakeholders at all levels
  • Able to multitask and prioritise your own workload
  • Forward thinking, self- motivated and embracing of change and development
  • Take a proactive approach, anticipating potential problems and offering solutions as early as possible
  • Acts with discretion, integrity, respect and thoughtfulness, maintaining confidentiality at all times
