Jones and Palmer are seeking a Senior Communications Consultant (Investor Relations) to join the consultancy team. The consultancy team researches companies to gain insights and uses those insights to shape the story, structure and content of communications.

Responsibilities include:

Working in partnership with our clients to:

  • Lead the research and assessment of consultancy offerings for our clients to develop their value proposition by communicating in a creative, understandable way to their stakeholder audience.
  • Define innovative strategies that enhance the structure and key messaging of our client’s communications.
  • Offer insightful, strategic advice on corporate communications, ranging from corporate reporting to sustainability and branding.
  • Analyse peers, benchmark, review and present to new and existing clients, being a part of the pitch, win and delivery.
  • Provide project wireframes (structured blueprints) for the corporate reports and website content.

Collaborating with colleagues to;

  • Share knowledge, enhance processes, improve approaches and develop methodologies.
  • Support peers through education, insight and knowledge sharing on trends, legislation changes, best practice, and idea generation across corporate communications, branding, digital transformation, and sustainability.
  • Collaborate with the creative team to ensure that the story and key messages are enhanced through creativity and realised into deliverables.
  • Work closely with the client and studio to ensure that client content provided is decoded and integrated effectively into the report or website.
  • Maintain ongoing knowledge of a portfolio of companies and their markets to ensure that as a team we continue addressing the ongoing communication needs of our clients.
  • Work with colleagues in the consulting team to deliver thought leadership research, to enhance product development, and provide editorial content to support both training and marketing needs.


Qualifications, experience & skills

The successful candidate will hold or have experience in/with:


  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with an ability to both build trust and narrate in a clear, concise and understandable manner.
  • Research and analysis skills, with an ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills.
  • Problem solving skills using common sense to aid the delivery of award winning communications.
  • Ability to organise, engage with and facilitate others, with peers and at more senior levels.
  • An ability to work autonomously combined with strong team working, collaboration and presentation skills.
  • Experience of delivering project work to clients of the highest standards in an efficient manner.
  • A supportive, insightful, courageous and honest can-do attitude.

Ideal qualifications and experience;

  • Will have an MBA, or equivalent qualification, and at least 4 years' experience in communications roles (ideally in corporate reporting or financial PR).
  • Experience in roles dealing with investors (ideal not essential), capital markets (ideal not essential), analysts and shareholders from either the client side or agency side.
  • Knowledge of investor relations and communications, more specifically corporate reporting, sustainability reporting.
  • Understanding of corporate reporting and associated regulatory frameworks, more specifically knowledge of <IR>, TCFD, SASB, ISSB and Corporate Governance (to name a few)
