Jones and Palmer are seeking an IT support technician who is looking for an exciting opportunity to progress in their IT career. You will be joining a small but dedicated team that is looking to expand. Your primary role will be supporting all areas of the business on software and hardware as needed

  • You will be an enthusiastic communicator, have a curious nature and be a person who naturally always questions how and why something operates.

Communication skills are vital, as you have the opportunity to provide support to colleagues and clients via telephone, chat, e-mail or face to face meetings. Good internal communication is also important as you will be working closely with the whole business providing solutions to technical questions.

This role will require you to work from our Jewellery Quarter offices given the physical requirements of supporting hardware, on some limited occasions there may be opportunities to work from home.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Microsoft Active Directory management
  • PC/Server hardware setup
  • Phone support to client
  • Ownership of more complex issues requiring further investigation
  • Hyper-V management of virtual machines
  • Remote Desktop setup and configuration
  • Network management (Copper/Fibre/WiFi and routing/VLANs)
  • Managing software licences
  • Google Workspace management

Necessary skills and experience

  • Friendly and professional manner
  • Good personal management of outstanding issues
  • Good time management
  • Previous experience in a Windows domain
  • Previous experience in a support role
  • Strong communication skills
  • Flexibility during busy working periods
  • Computer Science or IT related qualifications

  • Azure management and configuration
  • Adobe Creative Suite applications
  • Security best practices
  • Cisco configuration (basic routing, switching, VLANs)

Remuneration
