Ocado Group plc
It was a great advantage having one point of contact from messaging to both printed and online production. Running the two projects 'hand-in-hand' gives great flexibility and I was impressed with Jones and Palmer's 'can-do' attitude. Their experience with other online retailers also provided me with the confidence that they could handle our online requirements and they did this very smoothly.

Case Study
Ocado Group plc is an independent online grocer focused on the home delivery of high-quality food, drink and household goods.
We were delighted to work with Ocado to produce their first annual report since their main market listing in July 2010. They were looking for a conservative but corporate approach in line with a business sustaining high growth and starting to establish profitability.
As the main driver of the online grocery shopping market, Ocado is involved in the complete shopping process from inception to fulfilment. It was important to clearly depict their unique model - The Ocado Way - and the strong position that Ocado have to take advantage of the changing marketplace and highlight the distinct differences in their competitive approach.Ocado focuses entirely on online business delivering an effective and efficient service in terms of delivery and freshness of produce to the customer. Messaging and content were important key aspects of this document. Advice on structure, and initial copy was presented by Jones and Palmer and evolved in consultation with the client. Creativity within the report was designed to reflect Ocado's cautiously optimistic message.
The online nature of Ocado’s business made it essential that their shareholders should also receive an equally engaging online experience. Uniquely, we worked with them to promote the preliminary announcement, going live in full HTML a number of weeks before the online annual report itself. Traffic was driven to this site and subsequently to the full HTML Online Annual Report that evolved. This approach provided a more extensive user experience with more accessibility and usability than a normal RNS statement provides. Once this site was in the public domain, Jones and Palmer then went on to populate the full online annual report, and released this to replace the online preliminary announcement; the URL remained the same throughout.
The online annual report accommodates downloads and includes additional features such as a search facility to aid accessibility, animation on the home page to assist in navigation, a rolling panel of key highlights, arrows to navigate enabling pages to be read more like a book, drop down menus and a PDF basket for easy downloading of multiple pages.
