A double helping of success at the IR Society Annual Dinner and Best Practice Awards
Thursday, November 24, 2011

Congratulations were in order at the Investor Relations Society Annual Dinner and Best Practice Awards last night in London where over 400 IR professionals gathered to celebrate excellence in the changing reporting landscape.
Jones and Palmer attended the event at the Tower of London Pavilion, with four client projects shortlisted for five awards (Halfords, Trifast, Premier Foods, Ocado).
Trifast plc won ‘Best corporate website – Small Cap & AIM’. Trifast is a manufacturer and distributor of both standard and specialist fasteners on a global basis. The award was presented to the Executive Chairman Malcolm Diamond with Finance Director Mark Benton and Citigate Dewe Rogerson’s Fiona Tooley in attendance. This award endorses the excellent close relationship forged by the three collaborative parties to provide a cohesive and engaging experience for visitors to the Trifast website.
The IR Society commented: “The judges agreed that this is an excellent IR website with useful information such as interactive annual report, business model and USPs which makes it the best in class and rivals many larger companies.”
Halfords Group plc, the retailer and more recently car service provider, was represented by Alex Henderson, Company Secretary, who collected the award for 'Most Effective Overall Annual Report (both printed and online), in the FTSE 250 category. Having worked closely with Halfords on the cross media print, annual report micro site and video project, we were delighted to see Halfords recognised.
The judges commented that: “The printed report is well constructed and very user friendly. The online version is successful in bringing an already excellent hard-copy to life. The content is enhanced with a mixture of videos and interactive pages."
A great evening was had by all at the event hosted by TV comedian Fred Macaulay who has appeared on Have I Got News For You, Mock the Week and QI. Simon Willbraham and Erika Norris of Premier Foods were also present with Jones and Palmer to celebrate being shortlisted.
Managing Director James Houston said: “I’m delighted and extremely proud that the efforts of the Jones and Palmer team have been recognised by the awards made to two of our clients”.
