The impact of legislation
One example of changed legislation is the switch of default position on accepting electronic communications (shareholders have accepted unless they respond to the contrary). Whilst the idea in the long term is to reduce the costs of producing a printed Annual Report and making it ubiquitously available, the short term impact requires additional budget to help over the transitionary period. We have named this combination of printed and online media “the new media mix”.
The latest legislation is a great help to public-listed companies with tens of thousands of shareholders. What about some of the smaller cap plcs with 500 to 3,000 shareholders, who feel they cannot benefit from significant enough savings to do electronic communications well? Where does the new media mix leave these companies?
At Jones and Palmer we have developed strategies to help you to optimise communications and keep your costs under control. By working in partnership with you, we can explain the options to maximise impact. We can enable you to communicate using the new media mix without the astronomical agency fees some companies would anticipate. Our view is that anything is possible, providing you apply a sufficiently creative mind to it!
Online Annual Reports launched same day as delivery to shareholders
We have taken time to develop a comprehensive solution which is fully project managed by your Account Director and our internal web development and print teams to launch on the same day as your Annual Report.
The new media mix - printed and electronic
The new media mix incorporates print (both digital and litho), web (html, xml, xhtml), pdf, video, podcasting and many other new developments. We understand the respective benefits and shortfalls of all elements of the new media mix and can advise you based on your individual circumstances.
Contact our business development manager to meet up and demystify the new media mix face to face and personalise it to your requirements!
