Investment in messaging and media activities

20 November 2009

Jones and Palmer are dedicated to delivering strong 'mixed media' solutions for our clients.

As you are already aware, our efforts are spread across:

  • The Message – supporting our clients with help and guidance on the structure and messages for their investor and corporate communications
  • The Impression - developing brand and key messages through our creative approach and corporate communications focus
  • The Medium - from paper to pixels, we deliver effective yet economic mixed media solutions.

Our challenge as a business is to develop our service offerings within the core areas of message, impression and medium, making sure we get the balance just so to offer a compelling proposition to our clients.

Recent investments have focussed in the message and medium areas of our business, as this was where we (and our clients) felt we needed to stretch ourselves further.

Message investment

We are delighted to welcome Samantha Griffiths to our in-house team of consultants. Sam is busy preparing benchmarking and best practice recommendations for many of our 150 corporate clients. Working on both STAND UPS (reviews of our client’s online communications) and SOUND OUTS (benchmarking of our Annual Report clients), we offer transparent critiquing based on the IRS best practice recommendations, alongside a 3 year strategy for ongoing development (as the old saying goes, Rome was not built in a day!) with key milestones for improvement.

Medium investment

Many of our clients have experienced our best practice, technologically advanced, accessible online offerings incorporating corporate and investor websites and online, interactive Annual Reports. Our ongoing research into new product development is constantly challenging and improving our offerings.

And, whilst companies ignore electronic communications at their peril, let’s not forget the role of printed communications. Yes, print runs are dropping due to the strengths of online offerings, and reduced requirement to print Interim Reports.  However, our commitment to mixed media offerings has continued our need to invest in our 'online' and 'offline' services, combined with our one point of contact for all projects, saves our clients valuable time and money – avoiding briefing one agency for the printed Annual Report and another for the electronic communications projects.

At Jones and Palmer, we are well-equipped to face the future and we are excited about how technological advances, new legislation, and best practice recommendations can help us to offer the best services to our clients. We want them to stand out from the crowd by communicating value and demonstrating effective leadership, enabling them to increase liquidity, reduce the cost of capital, attract investors and achieve fair valuation. By following our 3 steps of ‘Message’, ‘Impression’ and ‘Medium’ it really is a smooth, seamless process that honestly doesn’t hurt!
